What you’ll need for your fundraiser:

You’ll only need a few things to run your donut sale fundraiser. You will need a table to sell your items, bags to put the donuts in, and a cash box for when supporters purchase your items. Talk to the local bakeries in your area and see if they would be willing to donated baked goods that are a day old to your efforts, or work out a discount with them if you plan on running your fundraiser all year long. If your planning to run this fundraiser long term, make sure that you have volunteers on a schedule so that your donut sale is always available to your supporters.

Best time of year for your fundraiser:

There isn’t really a best time of year for your fundraiser, but it’s always good to consider what you’re raising money for and how that schedule coincides with your sale. If you’re raising money for an athletic team, having your sale before or after practice is a great way to raise money, especially if parents often comes to watch. If your running your donut sale fundraiser at your local community centre, check your community schedule and have your donut sale when events or classes are being hosted. If you’re running your fundraising event at a school, have the sale at lunchtime, or before school games to maximize you’re fundraising potential.

Themes for your donut sale fundraiser:

If you’re running your fundraiser during a festive time of year, have a themed donut sale! For example, having pink and red donuts for Valentine’s Day, or peppermint donuts for the holiday season is a great way to motivate your supporters to participate in your fundraising event.

Things to remember:

If you’re running your donut sale fundraiser for an extended period of time, pay attention to how many donuts you usually sell, and adjust your orders accordingly.
