Team funding is something we do a lot at FlipGive, but it’s not just us. There are lots of amazing groups and companies trying to keep soccer affordable. 

KidSport Assistance

Kidsport, with chapters in each province, provides a subsidy for registration fees up to $300, depending on your area.

 

Every Child Deserves An Opportunity

Their opportunity offers a financial barriers program, with a 'Pay it forward' element for recipients - who do volunteer work within three months of receiving their funds.

 

JumpStart

Individual: The Individual Child grant application opens in January and closes when the funds have been depleted for the year.

Community: Applications can be submitted within one of three application periods for 2020.

Application periods: 

August 26, 2019 –October 1, 2019; December 30, 2019-February 1, 2020; March 23, 2020 – May 1, 2020

Para Sport: Applications must be submitted before March 15, 2020, with eligible programs running between September 1, 2020, and August 31, 2021.

Accessibility Grants: Applications must be submitted between December 1, 2019 and February 12, 2020 (11:59 p.m. EST).

Individual: $300/activity up to $600 annually.

Communities: Covers registration, equipment, transportation)

Para Sport: Covers registration, equipment, transportation)

Accessibility Grants: projects valued up to $500,000

Jumpstart provides various individual and community programs across many sports, including soccer. 

 

CRPA Community Grants Initiative

A support program for community initiatives that promote gender equity in sport. Can provide support for programs, events, practices, and more.

 

MLSE Community Grant (Ontario)

Amount: from $20,000-$50,000

MLSE offers Non-profits funding to encourage physical activity.

 

Free to Grow (Ontario)

Free to Grow Guelph-Wellington offers individual grants to offset the cost of sport.

 

Gil Read Memorial Foundation (Ottawa)

Amount: $500

The Gil Read Foundation provides grants to amateur players in Ottawa, with a preference to house league or intro programs.

 

Parks Foundation Amateur Sport Grant (Calgary)

Parks Foundation aims to support amateur sport development, paying project costs directly.

 

Sport Central - Get Equipment (Alberta)

Equipment

SportCentral provides equipment to those referred by partner agencies (details on site). Some Alberta assistance programs automatically qualify you for this program without a referral - see site for details.
