Eligibility

To be eligible for The Raise to Win Challenge, you must be a verifiable legal resident of Canada or the USA, who has reached the age of majority in your province or territory or state of residence at the Challenge Start Date. You are not eligible if you are an employee of FlipGive or its respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising, promotional and public relations agencies, or a member of the immediate family or household of such employees. For the purposes of these Rules, “member of the immediate family” means spouse, including common law spouse, father, mother, son, daughter, brother and sister of the entrant, regardless of where they reside. Entrants must be natural persons. Groups, clubs, organizations, businesses and commercial and non-commercial entities cannot participate.

All fundraising campaigns on the FlipGive platform that are approved by FlipGive administrators are eligible. Fundraising campaigns and fundraising captain must abide by the FlipGive.com Terms and Conditions.

Challenge Prizing
  • Only monies raised during the noted challenge periods will be counted toward the challenge placement and prizing.
  • Eligible fundraising campaigns cannot win multiple “Weekly Challenges” but Weekly Challenge winners can qualify for the “Overall Challenge”.
  • Weekly Challenge winners will be announced throughout the Challenge period. Overall Challenge Grand prize winners will be announced no later than May 5th, 2016
  • Campaign prizes will be awarded in the form of a credit to the fundraiser.
  • Eligible Weekly Challenge winners will be credited their prizes within the week their placement on the Weekly Challenge Leaderboard is announced.
  • Weekly Challenge winnings do not contribute to the overall amount of funds raised as campaigns compete for the Overall Challenge grand prizes.
  • Fundraising campaign beneficiaries must be approved by FlipGive.com administrators. Prizes will be awarded only to campaigns in which the beneficiary has been approved.
  • All prize values mentioned are in denomination of the campaign’s country of origin.

  1. How do I participate in the Raise to Win Challenge?

    To participate, individuals and teams must raise funds through the FlipGive platform. A FlipGive fundraiser or fundraising campaign (“Campaigns”) that meet the requirements (see Terms and Conditions) and who raise the most funds in a given week or overall during the period of March 1st and April 4th, 2016, can earn up to $5,500

  2. If I’m a Weekly Challenge Winner, when do I get my campaign funds and prizes?

    Raise to Win Challenge Prizes will be paid to the beneficiary specified in the FlipGive platform through the beneficiary tools. Campaign funds generated through normal shopping, gift cards and donations will be paid to the beneficiary of your campaign as specified by the team captain within the FlipGive platform. Challenge prizes won by a given campaign will paid directly to the beneficiary between April 4th and May 5th, 2016.

  3. How often does the leaderboard get updated?

    The Raise to Win Challenge leaderboard will update every 10 minutes to reflect the latest progress.

  4. What is the Overall Challenge Grand Prizes?
  5. Raise to Win Challenge prizes are awarded to the campaigns that have generated the highest amount of amounts raised over the period of the challenge, from March 1st to April 3rd, 2016. Below are the prizes values that will be credited to the Overall Challenge winning campaign(s):

    • 1st Place – $5,000
    • 2nd Place - $2500
    • 3rd Place - $1,000
  6. What are the Weekly Challenge prizes?
  7. Raise to Win Challenge weekly prizes are awarded to campaigns that raise the most each week through the challenge period. Below are the prizes values that will be credited to the winning campaign(s):

Terms and Conditions

  1. Timing The Promotion entry period begins at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (“EST”) on March 1st and ends at 11:59 p.m. EST on April 3rd, 2016 (the “Entry Period”). Sponsor’s computer is the official timekeeping device for the Promotion.

    The “Overall Challenge Period” begins at 12:00:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (“EST”) on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 (“Challenge Start Date”) and closes at 11:59:59 p.m. EST on Sunday, April 3, 2016 (“Challenge Close Date”).

    The “Weekly Challenge Periods” are as follows:

  2. ELIGIBILITY The challenge is only open to fundraising campaigns which meet the following criteria:
    1. Fundraising Captain is a US or Canadian resident who has reached the age of majority in your province or territory or state of residence at the Challenge Start Date.
    2. Fundraising Beneficiaries are approved by FlipGive.com;
    3. Fundraising Campaigns are approved by FlipGive.com;
    4. Fundraising Campaigns run during the period of March 1st to April 3rd, 2016;
    5. Fundraising campaigns started from a participating FlipGive Site.
    6. Eligible fundraising campaigns can NOT win multiple weeks.
    7. Eligible prize winners will be credited AFTER the challenge has ended.
    8. Total funds raised (excluding any weekly prizes won) are accounted for the grand prize.
  3. ELIGIBILITYThe Promotion is void where prohibited or restricted by local, state or federal law. Employees, officers and directors of BetterTheWorld, Inc. (“Sponsor”) and its respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, divisions, advertising and promotion agencies (Collectively, “Co-Sponsors”), and the immediate families (defined as parents, spouses, children, siblings, grandparents, and their respective spouses) or members of the same household (whether related or not) of each such employee, officer and director, are not eligible to enter. The Promotion, and any website pages and advertisements relating thereto, is intended for viewing only within the eligible Promotion territory.
  4. HOW TO ENTER. Fundraising Captains must have a running Fundraising Campaign during the Challenge Period to participate. No other action is required. Campaigns that earn the most on a given week during that time period, or overall, are eligible to win Cash Prizes.
  5. AGREEMENT TO OFFICIAL RULES AND DECISIONS. By participating in the Promotion, each fundraising captain and fundraising campaign fully and unconditionally agrees to be bound by and accepts these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor (including, without limitation, decisions regarding eligibility of entries, the approval of fundraising campaigns and beneficiaries, and the awarding of prizes), which are final and binding in all respects.
  6. NOTIFICATION. Sponsor will determine which fundraising campaigns will be awarded prizes (“Winners) to Campaigns registered under the FlipGive program. Weekly Winners will be notified the Monday after a campaign week (March 7th, March 14th, March 21st, March 28th, April 4th). Grand prize winners will be notified no later than May 5th, 2016. The Winners must comply with all terms and conditions of these Official Rules, and winning is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements. The potential Winners will be notified by phone and/or email. The potential Winners may be required to execute and return to Sponsor a notarized Affidavit of Eligibility, a Liability Release, and/or a Publicity Release (except where prohibited by law) (an “Affidavit/Release”) in the form(s) provided in order to claim the bonus. The Affidavit/Release must be returned by the date and/or time indicated within the Affidavit/Release. If the potential Winners cannot be contacted within five (5) days of the first attempt to contact the potential Winners, or if the potential Winner fails to return the Affidavit/Release within the specified time, or if any bonus or bonus notification is returned as undeliverable, or if the potential Winner is found to be ineligible, or if the potential Winner does not comply with the Official Rules, then the potential Winner may be disqualified.
  7. IN THE CASE OF A TIE. In the event of multiple campaigns raising the same amount during the Weekly Challenges and/or Overall Challenge, prizes will be prioritized based on the time which that amount was raised. The sooner the amount was raised, the higher that campaign will rank. For instance if Campaign A raised $500 by 7am on the Week One Challenge Close Date and Campaign B raised $500 by 9am on the Week One Challenge Close Date, Campaign A will rank higher. FlipGive reserves the right to split winnings amongst tied winners, or reward an equal prize amount to each tied participant.
  8. PRIZE. Prizes will be awarded in the form of additional funds raised for their campaign. Values listed below. Prizes are subject to the terms and conditions of these Official Rules, Sponsor will award the following Overall Challenge Grand prizes:
    • 1st Place – $5,000
    • 2nd Place - $2500
    • 3rd Place - $1,000

    Weekly cash prizes are awarded to campaigns that raise the most each week through the Weekly Challenge periods.

    • Top weekly raised - $500 cash
    • 2nd highest weekly raised - $250 cash
    • 3rd highest weekly raised - $100 cash

Campaign prizes will be awarded in the form of a credit to the fundraiser. These credits will be calculated and awarded to the campaigns between April 4th and May 5th, 2016. They will be paid in addition to the campaign payment at the end of the fundraising campaign. Prize must be accepted as awarded, and prize is awarded “AS IS” with no warranty, representation, or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, made by Sponsor shall be liable, including, without limitation, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, NON-INFRINGEMENT OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. No substitution, assignment, refund or transfer of a prize is permitted, except by the Co-Sponsors, who reserves the right to substitute a prize (or a component thereof) with another prize (or component thereof) of greater or equal value, if a prize is not available for any reason as determined by the Co-Sponsors in their sole discretion. The Winners are solely responsible for any and all costs, fees, taxes and expenses associated with prize award, receipt and use, including, without limitation, all federal, state and local taxes on the prize and any travel necessary.

  • PUBLICITY. Except where prohibited by law, participation in the Promotion constitutes the Winners’ consent to Sponsor and Co-Sponsor’s use of the Winners’ name, biography, likeness, voice, photographs, video, opinions, statements, hometown, state/province and country for promotional purposes in any manner or media (including, without limitation, online), worldwide, in perpetuity, and without further payment, consideration, notice, review or consent.
  • PRIVACY.The Sponsor will collect personal data about the participants for the sole purpose of administering this Promotion. The Sponsor respects your right to privacy. Please review the Sponsor's privacy policy at http://flipgive.com/pages/privacy for details on the manner in which we collect, use, disclose, and otherwise manage your personal information.
  • GENERAL CONDITIONS. The Sponsor reserves the right, in their sole discretion, to terminate, modify or suspend the Promotion if, in the Sponsor’s opinion, there is any suspected or actual evidence of electronic or non-electronic tampering with any portion of the Promotion, or if viruses, bugs, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical difficulties or failures or any other factor beyond Sponsor’s reasonable control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Promotion. In such event, the Sponsor reserve the right (but do not have the obligation) in their sole discretion to award prizes to eligible, non-suspect entries received up to the time of suspected impairment. The Sponsor reserve the right in their sole discretion to disqualify any individual or fundraising campaign they find to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Promotion or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of this Promotion is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and, should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserve the right to seek damages and other remedies from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision of these Official Rules. The decisions of the Sponsors are final and participants agree to abide by all of the instructions and decisions of the Sponsors. In the event of any dispute regarding the interpretation of these official challenge rules, the decision or interpretation of the Sponsors shall prevail. The Promotion Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual from the Promotion, and to ban that individual from any future promotion of the Sponsor, if the Sponsor finds or believes such individual to be tampering with the registration process or the operation of the Promotion or where applicable, the Website; to be acting in violation of the Promotion rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass the Sponsor, the Sponsor's agencies, other participants or any other person. ANY ATTEMPT BY A PARTICIPANT OR ANY OTHER PERSON TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CHALLENGE IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR(S) RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REPORT ANY SUCH VIOLATION TO THE APPLICABLE AUTHORITIES AND TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
  • RIGHT TO TERMINATE, MODIFY OR SUSPENDThe Sponsor may at any time, at its sole discretion and without liability, terminate, modify or suspend the Promotion in whole or in part, subject only to the approval of any applicable regulatory authority, if fraud, technical failures including any network server or hardware failure, viruses, bugs, errors in programming, or communications or any other errors or other causes beyond the control of the Sponsor corrupt the administration, integrity or security of the Promotion or if any other factor interferes with the conduct of this Promotion as contemplated by these Official Rules. In the event of early termination of the Promotion, a notice will be posted on the FlipGive.com Website. Sponsor reserves the right at its absolute discretion to vary, delete, or add to any of these Official Rules from time-to-time without prior notice. In the event of conflict, these Official Rules shall prevail over any of the contents of any other promotional materials advertising this Promotion. Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process, the operation of the Promotion and/or Promotion Website, violates the Official Rules, or acts with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. If the Promotion is not capable of running as planned for any reason, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other cause of any nature whatsoever beyond the reasonable control of the Promotion Entities which corrupt or affect the administration, security or proper conduct of this Promotion, the Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to, without advance notice, terminate or suspend the Promotion, in whole or in part, or modify it in any way.
  • RELEASE. By entering and/or accepting a prize, each Winner and potential Winner forever and irrevocably releases and holds harmless Sponsor, their respective parents, subsidiaries and affiliates, and their respective agents, advertising and promotion agencies, affiliates, retail partners, Promotion partners and prize suppliers, and all of their respective employees, officers, directors, shareholders and agents from and against all claims, damages or liabilities arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from the team’s participation and/or entry in the Promotion and/or the Winners’ prize, receipt or use of any prize awarded in the Promotion including, without limitation, personal injuries, death and property damage. By participating in this Challenge, participants agree to be bound of the Official Rules of this Promotion.
  • LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY. Sponsor is not responsible for: (a) incorrect or inaccurate transcription of entry information or late, lost, stolen, unintelligible, illegible, damaged, mutilated, altered, incomplete, misdirected or postage due entries or entries received through impermissible or illegitimate channels, all of which will be disqualified; (b) technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to the malfunctioning of any telephone, computer online systems, computer equipment, website, server provider, network, hardware or software; (c) the unavailability or inaccessibility of any website or service; (d) unauthorized intervention in any part of the entry process or the Promotion; (e) printing, typographical, electronic or human errors which may occur in the offer or administration of the Promotion or the processing of entries; or (f) any injury or damage to persons or property, including but not limited to team’s computer, which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from the winning team’s participation in the Promotion, or from viewing, playing or downloading any material from website(s), regardless of whether the material was prepared by Sponsor or a third party, and regardless of whether the material is connected to Sponsor’s respective websites by a hypertext link. Any participants registration that is, incomplete, altered, or contains false information, is invalid. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, stolen, delayed, damaged or misdirected claims or entries during the Promotion Period. The Sponsor is not responsible for any errors or omissions with respect to the printing or advertising of this Promotion and reserves the right to withdraw or cancel this Promotion in the event of a printing or administrative error. For greater certainty, the Promotion Entities will not be liable for: a) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by Website users or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Promotion or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of entries in the Challenge; b) any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or delay in operation of the Website or any transmission in connection with the Promotion; c) any communications line failure, theft, destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries; d) any problems with, or technical malfunction of, any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, or failure of email which may occur for any reason whatsoever, including technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or combination thereof; or e) any injury or damage to participants' or to any other person's computer related to or resulting from participating or downloading materials in this Promotion.
  • DISPUTES. Each Winner and Potential Winner agrees that: (a) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Promotion, or any prizes awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and solely and exclusively in a federal or provincial court located in Toronto, ON, Canada; the Winners submit to sole and exclusive personal jurisdiction to said courts in the Province of Ontario for any such dispute and irrevocably waives any and all rights to object to such jurisdiction; (b) any and all claims, judgments, and awards shall be limited to actual out of pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Promotion but in no event attorneys’ fees; and (c) under no circumstances will the Winners be permitted to obtain awards for and the Winners hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the winning team or Sponsor in connection with the Promotion shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the Province of Ontario, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules of provisions (whether of the Province of Ontario, Canada, or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the Province of Ontario. This Promotion is subject to all applicable laws and shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario. Any dispute or claim made by a party shall be filed in the judicial district of Toronto, Ontario to the exclusion of any other jurisdiction.
