A charity car wash is a great way to raise funds and awareness for any school, charity, or organization. It’s a great project for groups of almost any age, and depending on where you live, it can be run either during the summer months, or all year round. This kind of fundraiser is particularly popular for athletic teams.

Getting started:

Choose a date for your fundraising event, and make sure that the weather during this time is going to be conducive to your fundraiser. Running a car wash fundraiser during a volatile time of year, like the Spring or Fall, could be risky. Make sure the date your running your fundraising event works for your entire group, and that this kind of fundraiser makes sense with regard to what you’re raising money for.

Find a location for your car wash:

Parking lots work best for this sort of fundraiser, but you’re going to have to give the property owners a heads up that this is happening. If your fundraiser is running at a school, have it over the weekend, when the parking lot is empty anyway.

Finding a location for your car wash:

Usually, $10-$20 is a fair amount. If you want to go a little further, offer special services like waxing and interior car detailing.

Pre-sell tickets to guarantee attendance:

Selling tickets in advance is a great way to streamline your fundraiser, and guarantee attendance. This way, even if some of your supporters don’t show up, they had the opportunity to help your cause.

Publicize your event:

Don’t just rely on your school or community, have a volunteer with a sign directing random traffic into your car was, to raise even more money!

Bonus cash back:

If you have a FlipGive fundraising page, you can earn up to 10% cash back on items that you need for your fundraising event.
