Seasons may be paused, Schools may be closed... but that doesn’t mean we should stop planning and earning for when things get back to normal. With our Personal Account feature, you can still use FlipGive on everything you need for your quarantine life. Elizabeth G, proud hockey mom of two, tells us how she’s using her Personal Account in the times of COVID-19 and how it’s helping her get ready for when her season resumes.

In your own words, how would you describe the Personal Accounts feature?
I have been a big fan of the Personal Account feature since it launched, I usually use it during the off-season. When my team closed, I activated my Personal Account and kept shopping like usual with FlipGive. When my new season started, I transferred all the funds to my new team. Now that most seasons and sports activities are on hold, it’s a great way to keep earning for when the seasons start back up.
How do you use FlipGive in the current situation?
Many families, including ours, are working and studying from home. And, that can lead to a lot of chaos. Our family has had to readjust our routines - change the way we were doing things. I buy many of my groceries and cleaning supplies online with FlipGive. I think a lot of parents can relate to this since they don’t want to venture far from home. My husband and I have also set up individual work and study stations so we can operate comfortably. I ordered a proper desk chair to help me keep comfortable through the day. And, for the kids, a few new board games and books to keep them busy while on conference calls.
Can you withdraw your funds from your Personal Account?
No. The money you earn back using your Personal Account is meant to be transferred to your next team in order to be able to withdraw them.
What happens with your funds when you need to create a new team?
That’s when the fun part happens! When it’s time to raise for a new team, you can transfer the funds accrued from your Personal Account to the team of your choice in one click.

Other Teams loving Personal Accounts
“Spotlight Dance Company is an amazing place. They are a family-run studio and instill positive values in all of the dancers in everyday ways. They are incredibly supportive and positive, while at the same time providing top-notch dance instruction. Their motto is "where everyone shines". This year our PreCompetitive and Competitive teams have come together with the new mantra, 'One Team One Dream' in terms of fundraising and all-round team spirit. This is our second year using FlipGive and its success continues to grow. We passed our $3000 goal recently and still have a few months to keep earning. I personally love that I can have a personal FlipGive account as well to continue earning funds during the summer months then transfer it to our dance team in the fall. It makes it so easy!”
