FlipGive Get in the Game Hockey Grant
The FlipGive Get in the Game Hockey Grant offers both individual and team-level funding to those with a demonstrated need. FlipGive users are notified when the grant application period opens.
Dodge Caravan Kids
Individual: $500 + $500 bonus contest
Dodge Caravan Kids provides $500 in funding to Novice-level individuals who are enrolled. There is also association funding available, and other benefits to enrollment.
Individual: The Individual Child grant application opens in January and closes when the funds have been depleted for the year.
Community: Applications can be submitted within one of three application periods for 2020.
August 26, 2019 –October 1, 2019; December 30, 2019-February 1, 2020; March 23, 2020 – May 1, 2020
Para Sport: Applications must be submitted before March 15, 2020, with eligible programs running between September 1, 2020, and August 31, 2021.
Accesibility Grants: Applications must be submitted between December 1, 2019 and February 12, 2020 (11:59 p.m. EST).
Individual: $300/activity up to $600 annually.
Communities: Covers registration, equipment, transportation)
Para Sport: Covers registration, equipment, transportation)
Accesibility Grants: projects valued up to $500,000
Jumpstart provides various individual and community programs across many sports, including hockey.
Grindstone offers player sponsorship for Female hockey players across Canada.
KidSport Grant Program
KidSport provides individual funding at a chapter level - find your local chapter to apply.
Pat Quinn Scholarship
Covers tuition costs up to $5000 for student athletes.
NHLPA Goals & Dreams
The Players' Charitable initiative provides equipment (and sometimes celebrity visits!) to hockey programs in North America.
Daryl K. Seaman Canadian Hockey Fund
Deadline: November 12
The Daryl K. Seaman Hockey fund is a Canada wide fund to support amateur ice hockey in Canada.
ScotiaBank Hockey Fund Sponsorship
The Scotiabank hockey Fund supports events focused on kids' community hockey teams, leagues, or associations. Details on how to apply in-branch are linked.
Medals, Certificates, and Discounts
Esso provides some player medals, certificates, and Esso Discount Cards to teams.
Canadian Women & Sport offers the WISE fund to organizations encouraging female sport.
S'cool Life Fund
Amount: up to $3000
S'cool Life Fund supports Sports program (among other things) to registered charities, focusing on educational settings.
Free to Grow Guelph-Wellington offers individual grants to offset the cost of sport.
MLSE Community Grant (Ontario)
Amount: from $20,000-$50,000
MLSE offers Non-profits funding to encourage physical activity.
ViaSport Grants (BC)
A listing of multi-sport grants for inidivudals, teams, coaches, and more.
EKEC Grant (Alberta)
Deadline:October 31, January 31, April 30 and July 31
Amount: Max $5,000/year
EKEC supports grassroots minor hockey initiatives to help ensure all kids have a chance to participate in a hockey program.
Grassroots Hockey Grant (Manitoba)
Deadline: 30 days before initiative
Amount: Max $2000
Hockey Manitoba supports minor hockey associations and regional development and recruitment initiatives.
Goaltender Development Grant (Manitoba)
Deadline: 30 days before initiative
Amount: Max $1000
Hockey Manitoba offers a goalie-specific grant program for male and female goaltenders.
Lace 'Em Up (British Colombia)
Lace 'em up is designed to encourage registration in local minor hockey associations by focusing on the new or first-time participant, aged 6 – 12 years. These participants will be put through a tailored early learners program.
